Oakley Vale students are selected to play in the County Foundation Wind Orchestra

Two Year 6 students, Victoria Tysoe and Zoe Rymarz were selected to play their flutes in a concert with the NMPAT’s County Foundation Wind Orchestra at the Spinney Theatre in Northampton.

The girls’ debut performance saw them play four different pieces including ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ and ‘In the Machine’ and featured over 100 young musicians.

Victoria and Zoe were picked to join the orchestra after attending a woodwind residential designed to provide an opportunity for young musicians to enjoy an intensive time of music making. Their musicality, hard work and enthusiasm helped to make the concert a truly uplifting and rewarding experience.

Zoe said ‘The concert was very exciting, and I really enjoyed it. We had to practice a lot to make sure that we were ready to perform. I wasn’t’ nervous at all and loved performing.’

Victoria said ‘I loved performing at the concert it was very exciting. My parents were watching me play and they were very proud. I’m looking forward to the next concert.’
