Year 6 residential 2017

Year 6 residential 2017

Students in Year 6 celebrated the end of their SATS with a four day residential to PGL Caythorpe near Grantham in Lincolnshire.

The centre, boasting over 65 acres of space was packed full of adventure activities both on land and water including archery, raft building, quad biking, trapeze, vertical challenge, sensory trail and problem solving courses. At night students had great fun playing ‘Capture the Flag,’ toasting marshmallows around the campfire and taking part in a PGL sports night.

Year 6 student Rowan Napier said ‘My favourite part of the trip was the zip wire and raft building I enjoyed working together as a team. It was fun having time with friends and making new friends as we mixed with people we might not have played with at school.’

Zoe Rymarz said ‘I loved all of the activities but particularly the trapeze because it was quite high and I was scared of heights but I got all the way to the top and I managed to conquer my fear.’

Year 6 teacher Ms Stephanie Cross said ‘The residential was a fantastic way to end and wind down after a busy year preparing for SATS. It was also nice to be able to spend time together as a year group that you don’t often get during a normal school day. All of the children really enjoyed the activities, it helped to bring the quieter ones out of their shells, and gave everyone a chance to try things that they hadn’t done before and push them out of their comfort zones.’
