School Council students ‘go green’ to support local charity

Children from the school council raised £382 for Lakelands Hospice by holding a whole school mufti day when students had to wear an item of green clothing.

The school regularly supports Lakelands and, in previous years, have organised cake sales and film nights to raise money for them.

Lakelands specialises in palliative care for people with cancer, heart failure and other life limiting diseases.

Deputy Head Mrs McDonald said ‘Lakelands is funded entirely by voluntary donations and support from the local community, we are very proud of Oakley Vale’s continued efforts towards supporting such a worthwhile charity.”
