Scarecrow competition

Scarecrow competition

Little Ambassadors, a group of Year 5 students, came together to help improve an aspect of school life.

This year it was decided to hold a scarecrow competition. Every class had to design and create a scarecrow to go in the school allotment. All scarecrows were displayed and creative entries included ballerinas and a baby scarecrow!

Mrs Heskins, who led the the Little Ambassadors, said ’We were overjoyed with the children and staff’s commitment to the scarecrow challenge. This was evident with the wide variety of entries. The competition was fierce, with 3rd place being won by Year 6 Hawks class’s 60’s dude scarecrow., 2nd place was Year 5 stags class with their Mummy scarecrow, which was linked to their Egyptian theme and 1st place went to Year 4 foxes class who won with their Zombie scarecrow. I’d like to thank everyone who took part. The scarecrows are still on display in the allotment if you haven’t seen them yet.’
