Students go ‘mad’ for science

Students go ‘mad’ for science

Oakley Vale students enjoyed an interactive assembly with Mad Science who came into school to demonstrate how amazing science can be.

The students were shown how air can be used to force objects to move including an amazing real hover board which some of them got to try out.

Mad Science will be holding an after school club starting in February. The weekly lessons are themed around particular areas of science including; bugs, detective science, earthworks, kitchen chemistry, mad science machines, movie effects, walloping weather and science of toys. The lessons offer the students a chance to get excited about science and see how fun it can be.

Principal Miss Goodwin said ‘We are extremely pleased to be able to offer Mad Science after school classes to the students. I believe that they will be beneficial in their understanding of science and will help with their learning in class as well as showing how enjoyable science can be.’

The classes will run after school at 3:35-4:35pm from Monday 27 February until 27 March 2017 at a cost of £32.50 per child which will include some science products to take home and access to the parent zone on their website. If you require any further information, please speak to the office.
