Students and staff at Oakley Vale Primary School supported Anti Bullying Week by wearing odd socks to school, a fun way of illustrating the concept of difference.

The school’s theme for the week was about respecting each other and understanding each other’s differences. Each made a speech bubble and wrote respectful words in it and they also made decorative bands.

Teacher Mandy Mutch said: ‘Odd Socks Day is designed to be fun! It’s an opportunity for children to express themselves and  celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique! There is no pressure on the children to wear the latest fashion, or for parents to buy expensive costumes. All th ey have to do to take part is wear odd socks to school, it couldn't be simpler.'

Odd Socks day takes place on the first day of Anti Bullying Week each year to help raise awareness around anti-bullying, so thanks to everyone who took part.
