How we meet the needs of our children

How we meet the needs of our children at Oakley Vale

Oakley Vale Primary School is situated on a large, new housing development on the outskirts of Corby catering for a diverse community that is still evolving.

Our curriculum is carefully crafted to ensure that subject coverage enables every child to make connections within and across areas of learning. We put reading, vocabulary and high-quality language rich literature at the heart of our school and central to the children’s literacy development. This approach is designed to foster citizens of the future who have the Cultural Capital and Tickets for Life in order to make a positive contribution within their community and the wider world.

Our broad and balanced curriculum is at the core of our ambition for every child at Oakley Vale. It is designed to provide our children with a breadth of opportunities to access a wide range of learning experiences afforded by their community and to equip them with the knowledge, skills and understanding to make a positive contribution in return. We aim to provide our children with an enriched, creative curriculum which encourages collaboration, instils a love of learning and helps carry them through to the next phase of their education ready for any challenge they may face.

50 Before Year 7
