Me, My World, My Way (PSHE)
We have created a PSHE curriculum based on the National Currriculum, structured and delivered in a way that meets the individual needs of the children at Oakley Vale Primary.
We have done this by identifying focusing on 3 key areas of personal development:
Me - Children learn about themselves, their emotion and their relationships.
My World - Children use the UN Global Sustainable Development Goals to learn about the world around them, how to nurture and care for it and how their lives impact on it.
My Way - Children use the Hidden Chimp by Professor Steve Peters to understand and manage their emotions. They develop and understanding of how they behave and learn and develop key life skills.
Click on the tabs on the left for more detail on each of these areas.
Me, My World lessons are taught every Friday afternoon across the school
Every Friday afternoon children take part in 4 Mindful Moments:
Calm Me Time
Meditation and breathing exercises
Wellbeing Activity
An activity to develop a healthy mind
Gratitude and Empathy Jar
The opportunity to say ‘thank you’ and ‘sorry’

Every Friday afternoon children will also have opportunities to talk, debate, investigate and develop their understanding of Me, My World, My Way weekly curriculum objectives.
