Early Years Foundation Stage
From tiny steps to giant leaps – growing curiosity, fearless confidence, and learning through play and discovery.
At Brooke Weston Trust, we believe that a child’s early years are the foundation for all future learning. Our EYFS curriculum is designed to nurture happy, confident, and curious learners who feel safe, valued, and ready to explore the world around them.
We focus on building strong relationships with children and families, creating a warm and supportive environment where every child can thrive. Our approach is rooted in the belief that every child is unique and capable, and we tailor learning experiences to meet their individual needs and interests.
Children learn through play, exploration, and meaningful interactions across the seven areas of learning and development. These include:
- Prime Areas: Communication and Language, Physical Development, and Personal, Social and Emotional Development.
- Specific Areas: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design.
We place a strong emphasis on oracy, helping children to develop their speaking and listening skills from the very beginning. Through storytelling, conversation, and role play, children learn to express themselves clearly and confidently.
Our EYFS settings are vibrant, inclusive, and designed to spark imagination and curiosity through our purposefully structured continuous provision which is sequenced and adapted as children progress through the year. Whether indoors or outdoors, children are encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
