Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
SENDCo - (Special Educational Needs and Disadvantaged Coordinator)
Mrs Rebecca Annettsrebecca.annetts@oakleyvaleprimary.org
At Oakley Vale we make great efforts to include everyone in our activities and learning, whatever their educational needs. Every child has full access to the curriculum and we use a variety of teaching styles and scaffolding, to ensure that all children can access learning in the classroom. If appropriate, children have individual plans and dedicated support to achieve their targets, where these are significantly higher or lower than the rest of the class. This enables them to understand the relevance and purpose of learning activities and experience levels of progress that bring feelings of success and achievement.
Please see the SEND policy and SEND information report for further information about the provision for pupils with SEND at Oakley Vale Primary School.
What does the Local Offer do?
The Local Offer:
- Improves choice and transparency for families
- Helps professionals to understand the range of services and provision available locally
- Improves joint commissioning arrangements for services by setting out in a single place what is available locally
- We are working together with children and young people, parents and carers and with local services, including the voluntary and community sector, to develop our offer and keep it under review.
