Religious Education
Exploring faith, culture, and meaning to help children understand themselves and the world around them.
Our Religious Education and World Views curriculum encourages pupils to explore and discuss life’s big questions and develop a deep understanding of the diverse beliefs and values that shape our world. Designed in collaboration with experts, it promotes curiosity, respect, and thoughtful reflection.
Pupils learn about a wide range of religions and world views, including Christianity and other major faiths, through core texts and philosophical enquiry. They develop the ability to describe, analyse, and evaluate beliefs and practices, while recognising diversity within and between communities.
The curriculum supports children in expressing their own ideas with clarity and respect, encouraging them to reflect on identity, meaning, and ethics. It also equips them with the skills to engage seriously with different perspectives, fostering empathy, critical thinking, and respectful dialogue.
Parents/carers have the right to request that their child be withdrawn from some or all of the statutory RE curriculum. Before granting any such request, we encourage all parents/carers to discuss their feelings with the Principal who will listen and ensure that their wishes are understood.
