Science
Fostering scientific thinking and wonder through practical, purposeful learning and the acquisition of knowledge
Our science curriculum lays the foundation for understanding the world through the core disciplines of biology, chemistry, and physics. It encourages curiosity, enquiry, and critical thinking.
Children develop scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through engaging lessons and practical investigations. They explore the nature and methods of science, learning how to ask questions, carry out experiments, and draw and present conclusions based on evidence.
Children are equipped with the empirical understanding and skills needed to understand the role of science in today’s world and its impact on the future whilst understanding the legacy of the past. They are encouraged to understand how science can be used to explain what is occurring, predict how things will behave, and analyse causes, all of which allow for a deeper understanding of scientific world of today and tomorrow.
