PSHE & RSE
Growing emotionally smart, socially-aware children with resilience and empathy who can articulate their wants and needs.
A high-quality PSHE curriculum supports children’s social, emotional, and mental wellbeing while helping them develop a strong moral compass. It provides a safe space for children to explore their own values, understand others’ perspectives, and build the knowledge and skills needed to lead healthy, safe, and fulfilling lives.
The curriculum focuses on emotional literacy, resilience, healthy relationships, and self-awareness, preparing children for life in a diverse and ever-changing world. Children learn how to manage emotions, seek support, and make informed choices, all while respecting the views and values of others.
We follow the Cambridgeshire PSHE Scheme, which includes statutory Relationships and Sex Education (RSE). RSE is taught as part of a broader personal development programme, covering topics such as self-esteem, rights and responsibilities, and emotional wellbeing. Parents are kept informed and supported through annual events and clear communication, especially around specific units in all years.
PSHE is central to developing each child’s identity, helping them form meaningful relationships, handle setbacks, and grow into thoughtful, responsible members of society.
